Bucovina is one of the most revered metal bands in Romania, true pioneers of the viking/pagan/folkmetal scene in the country. Founded back in 2000, their career continued uninterrupted ever since, releasing 5 studio albums and 1 EP so far, with a new LP scheduled for 2025, marking a quarter of a century in full action.
Their musical journey saw them all across Europe in tours and festivals, all the way to South America and being even distributed in Japan. From the raw heavy-black metal of the seminal “Ceasul Aducerii-aminte” album, Bucovina’s music evolved to a more refined sound, incorporating neo-folk elements and distilling them in accordance with the well-loved and established black and heavy nuances, all taking the form of their self-titled Folc Hevi Blec genre, a name coined by the band to express the rather unique melange of styles.
Energetic and full of meaning, sometimes pensive and sometimes downright raw-partying, Bucovina’s shows are always a sight to behold and participate in fully. Now it’s time Bucovina paid a visit to the new Republic Hub, to blast their Folc Hevi Blec anthems and have the crowd singing in unison.
FITTONIA is a dynamic presence in Romanian music and straddles the line between the heavy and sensitive styles found in pop or indie.
The band’s sound attests to the diversity of the members’ influences and is devoid of allegiances or anchors to the past, the sonic experience being fresh and full of change.
With a blend of layered musical genres and dark lyrical themes, FITTONIA is a band looking to reach as many ears as possible and multiply their fanbase,the army of DuRi.
The band was formed in 2021 in Cluj-Napoca and has 6 members.
So far they have released 8 singles accompanied by music videos and have played over 50 concerts.
