iarba Fiarelor and authentic music
At the intersection of collective experiences, mythofolklore, native rhythms and the sounds of nature, we have found an oasis of inspiration, from where the beast grass springs and brings authentic music. Come and dance, remember and hold each other gently on 13 April at the Republic Hub Private Cultural Centre in Sântana de Mures. Audience favourites such as Ține-me blând, Ioane (Slowly, with good work), Dara că da and 200 (two hundred) will fill the evening’s repertoire.
The troupe Grass of Beasts was launched in 2018 at the Museum of Comparative Art in Sângeorz-Băi. In parallel with live appearances, Fiarelor Grass has recorded two studio albums – Barefoot (2020) and Slobod (2023).
In mythology, beast grass is a mysterious plant that unlocks locks.
The beasts in the name iarba Fiarelor, spelled with a small i and a capital F, refer to both woodland and metal beasts. Legend has it that you can understand the speech of the beasts if you come into possession of the miraculous plant, but also that the mythological plant gives you supernatural powers, invincibility to weapons, the ability to pick locks and escape.
